In 2010, MASQUERADE LIFE CASTING will be at the State Street Art Festival in Ann Arbor, MI, July 21st through 24th. She can be found in Booth 545 on Maynard Street, between Liberty and William. THE Maryland Renaissance Festival is a 9 week event, just outside of Annapolis in Crownsville, Maryland. She is a Permanent Artist at this venue, and her booth is number 200. In the 2010 show season the Maryland Festival opens August 28th & 29th and runs weekends through October 23rd & 24th. Private appointments are available during the week at this time, and can be scheduled by contacting her at her temporary Maryland number: 410 266 8462. ANN'S LAST SCHEDULED SHOW IS at the Armadillo Christmas Bazaar in Austin, Texas. Beginning in 2010 on December 15th, and open daily from 11 AM to 11 PM through December 24th. The show is back in South Austin at the Palmer Auditorium. FACE CASTING WORKSHOPS are available through The Hill Country Arts Foundation, in Ingram, Tx. 800-459-4223 or 830-367-5120. This class is yet to be scheduled. It is a two day intensive workshop offering insight into the history of life casting as well as the hands-on process. Two plaster gauze castings will be made, three finished works will be created from these castings, one of which will be made into a fired clay piece. Many students of this workshop have gone on to practice life casting professionally. AND, at Common Ground on the Hill in Westminster MD, 410-857-2771. This is a five day workshop at McDaniel College July 5th through 9th. The history of life casting and it's direct impact on the historic record will be reviewed as well as in depth discussions on the "holographic" effect of the student's castings. The hands on process will include two or more separate castings of the face. One by fellow students, the second by Ann. Using these castings the students will create several decorated masks, as well as a permanent work in fired clay. There is no better way to discover the life casting process, and use what you've learned to document your own family's history.
